Frequently asked questions
What is an API key and where do I get one?
It is a personal code that an AI provider gives you to use its models from other apps. You create it on the provider’s website and paste it into Omnipal’s settings. The guide shows where to find it for each provider.
How much does the AI provider cost?
You pay as you go, at the provider’s prices: with lighter models a reply costs well under one cent. Some providers have free tiers with limits, and with Ollama the model runs on your computer for free.
Does Omnipal read my emails?
The extension reads the open conversation only when you ask for a reply or, if you turn them on, for suggestions, and sends it to the provider you chose. Nothing reaches us. For work email you can pick a provider with servers in Europe, such as Mistral, or a local model with Ollama.

Chrome and Microsoft Edge, on Windows, macOS and Linux. You can connect up to 5 devices.
